The Friendly Visitors program trains LGBTQ/2S (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, Two-Spirit) volunteers and allies who visit LGTBQ/2S seniors and older adults (55+) in their homes, independent living, assisted living and residential care facilities as part of a Friendly Visitor Team.
Anyone 55+ wishing to get connected in the LGBTQ/2S community, looking for supports, or to create meaningful connections and friendships is welcome to join.
The Friendly Visitor team conducts home visits to seniors with limited mobility or who are unable to leave their residential care or assisted living facilities. For senior clients who are able to leave their homes, a Friendly Visitor volunteer can accompany them to community events, medical and other appointments and connect them to LGBTQ/2S friendly services.
