The essential role played by our volunteers
September 30, 2015
QMUNITY reached over 43,000 LGBTQ folks in 2014. Volunteers contributed 13,140 hours of work towards this—the equivalent to almost 7 full-time staff. We don’t say this lightly:
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization.
But there’s an essential role every volunteer plays that might not be super evident. Lucas, QMUNITY’s Youth Worker, reminded us of it.
“To be visible queer and trans people out there for [others] to look up to is one of the most essential roles volunteers play at QMUNITY.”
Last night, we celebrated and thanked our amazing volunteers for their commitment to make queer and trans lives better.
Here are some photos!
