Harlan Pruden joins Board of Directors

QMUNITY is delighted to announce that Harlan Pruden has joined the QMUNITY Board of Directors.


Harlan (First Nation Cree/nēhiyaw) works with the Two-Spirit community locally, nationally and internationally. Harlan is a Ph.D. student at the University of British Columbia’s Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies Program and is the Managing Editor of TwoSpiritJournal.com, an interactive multi-platform Two-Spirit media/news site and serves as the principal Two-Spirit consultant to USA Federal Agency Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Tribal Training and Technical Assistance Center. In August 2014, Harlan was appointed to the USA’s Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS where he works to provide advice, information, and recommendations to the Secretary of Health & Human Services and the White House and will continue serving in the post until January 2017. Harlan also serves as an Honorary Committee Member of the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services at the University of Alberta, Canada, and in the spring of 2013, Harlan was appointed to be a representative to the International Indigenous Peoples Working Group on HIV/AIDS. Before moving to Vancouver in the spring of 2015, Harlan called New York City home and was a co-founder and former Director of the NorthEast Two Spirit Society, https://medfitnetwork.org/public/valium-diazepam-oral/.

Harlan brings considerable not-for-profit governance experience, a deep knowledge of the Two-Spirit community and an enormous amount of positive energy to the QMUNITY Board. With Harlan’s appointment, QMUNITY takes another step toward meeting our commitment to reconciliation and meaningful inclusion of the Two-Spirit community in the daily life and fabric of QMUNITY.
