Let’s Talk About Sex: A Benefit for QMUNITY
October 25, 2017
Mixed Media Artists Array (MMAA), a group of local artists, is hosting a sex positive art exhibit featuring photography, paintings, and live performances.
The show will celebrate sexuality, sexual preference, and sexual expression. More than sensual, more than erotic – this event will welcome all genders in an exploration of human sexuality in its many forms. With an aim to encourage conversation, promote enthusiastic consent, safe sex and sexual self-determination, featured works will offer a voice to a wide array of personal choices within the sexual spectrum.
This MMAA event is being organized by Theresa Frazao, Founder, and Directors, Ryan DeCorby and Samantha Gill, all three of whom are also exhibiting works in the show. Reknowned Vancouver artist Joe Average is one of the featured artists in the show. Five of his prints will be available at the show and he is also responsible for the design of the event poster.
The event will feature approximately 30 artists in total, a DJ, dance and other performances including an interactive art piece. There will also be a cash bar with wine and beer sponsored by Coal Harbour Brewing Company. Additional sponsors include Andre Vertefeuille and Element Athletic.
None of us would be here without sex. It is an innate part of who we are. This show will create a safe space to explore ideas about relationships, sex, intimacy, and pleasure. We hope you’ll join us on November 25, 2017 from 7:00 PM – midnight at Element Athletic – 190 a W 3RD Ave # 110, Vancouver, BC.
Proceeds from the bar, $2 suggested donation for admission and a portion of art sales will support QMUNITY.
