Public Update – QMUNITY Transitions 2020

In late 2019, QMUNITY experienced a change in leadership that necessitated a temporary suspension of programing and services. We regret the impact this may have had for those who rely on us; it was not an easy decision or one that was taken lightly.

Executive Director Tim Agg on the work done since taking over at QMUNITY:

“Not long after starting, I was reminded of how vitally important QMUNITY’s services are when three different people approached me to share personal stories about the impact QMUNITY had on them; each of them told me that QMUNITY had saved their life! Their words have stayed with me and its stories like these that motivate me and the rest of the team every day.

It was clear that we needed to do more than just restoring services, we needed to be thinking about our future by developing strategies to achieve long term stability and sustainability. My role as ED has been made easier by the shared determination of the staff and board to see QMUNITY succeed for many years to come.

We’ve used the last four months to strategize and plan for the future. We’re making changes to ensure a culture of safety and health for all. We’ve made changes to the management structure and to several program jobs. We’re recruiting new directors to bring the board to full strength and hiring new staff to deliver the life changing services that our community relies on us for.

This is an exciting time for QMUNITY. We are evolving, and there is tremendous potential for future growth. We have some very talented people on our team, and we’re enthusiastic and optimistic about the road ahead. Each day, we’re inspired by the patience, loyalty and good will shown by the people who rely on us, as well as our partners, donors, and the queer community as a whole. Your kind support is essential to us – thank you for continuing to place your trust in us.
